Member of Leeward YMCA Tai Chi Ohana
When newly certified Tai Chi instructor Rebecca Neudorf discovered she
had arthritic symptoms in her fingers, high blood pressure and cholesterol, she knew she wanted to find a natural cure instead of Western medicine. While learning the meaning of the 108 mala beads (used for meditation, mantra, and prayer) she came across the benefits of tai chi. Rebecca began tai chi and Qigong at the Mililani YMCA, eventually making her way to the Leeward YMCA.
A now retired Lab Tech, Rebecca spent 37 years working in a microbiology lab identifying microorganisms. Upon graduating from Campbell High School, she moved to Chicago to pursue a career in nursing, but those plans fell through when she realized she could not handle dealing with dead bodies. Instead, she discovered her knack for medical technology. She lived and worked in Chicago for 17 years where she met her husband.
When she’s not doing Tai Chi, Rebecca enjoys going to Zumba with her husband (who surprisingly enough enjoys it most). They have one daughter who lives in New York City and is a communication strategist.
In her spare time, Rebecca likes to crochet and knit scarves and blankets.
