Sometimes in class, I talk about the crack of the whip being a mini sonic boom. That is when something moves faster than the speed of sound. To achieve this remarkable speed at the tip of the whip, I believe you need the recoil.
So remember to add some recoil to your tai chi practice.

The recoil is more subtle that I thought. Must look more into whip dynamics. I’m sure it can improve tai chi. The whipping power is in tai chi too. That is one reason the concept of song (loose and relaxed) is important.
Anyway, I’m getting too loose and relaxed now. My eyes are closing. Time for "meng" or maybe you know the Japanese word "yume." Dream. Yup. I think it is about bedtime.
